I wouldn’t consider this Nutopian project a follow-up to its predecessor. Instead I would venture to call it a musical extension into the vast world of Lennon and his whimsy’s. Rex Fowler’s voice handles the most delicate of notes found within these songs with delightful skill, never betraying its original mastery, only adding more intrigue to the particular piece with little and most notable variations. Combining pairs of songs together gives a different life to these tunes. It’s as if you’ve discovered a known treasure which breathes a new song. The acoustic strength involved in “You’re Gonna Lose That Girl” relies on vocal capacity which is ever-present and successful. This band of merry Lennonites are almost successors to the legacy. They bring an intriguing sense of musical distinction to songs we love, adding flair and wonderment to a reimagined design.
