A nineteenth century woodsman ostracized from his own community, innocent of false accusations retreats to the mountains to a self-sufficient life of peace and unity with nature and the land he loves. He befriends a grizzly cub who has now become a full-grown champion of the outdoors, and his best friend. The wilderness holds for them a future of compelling challenges, a relationship with a native American, and an unusual rapport with the wildlife. Protecting the terrain he so dearly cherishes, Adams faces bounty hunters, those who would disrespect the land, and those who would ruin this ever so traditional way of life. Wonderfully played by Dan Haggerty, this remains of the most sincere television dramas of its time.
